About our speakers

Lawyer, of the Conscious Contracts® movement and author of Discovering Agreement, Linda Alvarez was initially trained in theatre. She and her husband produced and managed theatrical and media productions across the United States.

She pivoted and earned a law degree in 1997, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She entered private practice in the large firm environment — including Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati (Palo Alto) and Vinson & Elkins (Houston) — becoming part of the team that defended the first mp3 player to enter the market. She became Senior Counsel for Litigation and Trademarks at Align Technology, Inc, developing expertise in intellectual property issues in the area of digital technology. She launched her solo practice in 2005.

In 2012, Linda was recognized by the American Bar Association as a “Legal Rebel” for her work in bringing change to the legal system and in 2016 the ABA published her book, “Discovering Agreement: Contracts That Turn Conflict Into Creativity.” Linda’s facilitation and mentorship services empower businesses and their lawyers to use contracts and foundational documents to “build-in” systemic responses to disruption and disagreement that are creative, robust, and aligned with the values and imperatives that are crucial to the mission and integrity of companies and leadership.

Jacqueline Horani is a lawyer, teacher, entrepreneur, and consultant. She launched her own practice in March of 2019 after discovering the limitations of litigation practice. Working with purpose-driven entrepreneurs and organizations, she helps them transform fear into trust and build aligned policies, contracts, and agreements that represent their true vision of the kind of work they truly want to be doing in the world.

Her think tank law firm leads research projects around the globe on Access-to-Justice, global economic equity, and collaborative structures. As a clinical law professor co-leading and developing an innovative global negotiations clinic teaching Conscious Contracts® to the next generation of lawyers, she works to bring her Legally Unconventional approach to the classroom.
