WHAT MAKES THIS PROGRAM SPECIAL

Focusing on the needs of pre-startups with no revenues yet and early startups that have had revenues for less than a year, this program provides content that would cost thousands of dollars elsewhere, and mentoring and teamwork that parallel best practices of top business schools. Webinars are organized around a tightly structured curriculum that sequentially builds knowledge and skills startups should develop, with weekly sprints (?) to encourage immediate application of concepts to team projects.

Final presentations (Mar 10)

Teams present to peers and the best two overall launch programs – one for products and one for services — will be chosen via live-voting. Members of the winning teams each take home $150.

Mentor-driven Workshops and Cohort Teams

Workshops begin immediately after the 1-hour presentations. Participants will have the option of working on a product or a service business. They will be assigned to small teams that stay together and work on the same product or service for the duration of the program. Teams can decide what to launch, selecting from options for consideration.

Teams will work on fictitious launches to encourage risk-taking and experimentation as they progressively apply what they learn from the webinars. They may also choose to meet outside of the weekly sessions to increase their chances of winning the competition.

Eighteen experienced mentors from the NYWIB alliance and partner businesses will work with individual teams on their projects. They will also coach weekly sprints and final team competitions. More importantly, they will help participants understand how to apply what they are learning to their actual business challenges.

Rules of the Road: BEFORE YOU REGISTER, please be certain you can:

  1. Attend all 5 sessions of the program. This represents a commitment to yourself and others in the group.
  2. Work in front of a full screen computer, allowing screen sharing in a quiet area to allow you to concentrate.
  3. Agree to work with your assigned team developing your launch plans each week and the final presentation. This optimizes your learning experience by enabling you to discuss concepts with your peers and mentors
  4. Subscribe to the NYWIB / Accompany Capital email list and agree to list your name and profile if selected for marketing purposes
  5. Deadline for applications: Monday, January 17
