If volunteering is something you've been considering for a while but aren't sure how to get started, join us for an interactive workshop. Sharing ideas and working together on what you can bring to a non-profit and how to find those opportunities is our goal.
Many of us want to volunteer as we have more time in our lives but finding where to start can be daunting. This workshop is designed to help you organize your ideas on the type(s) of volunteering you'd like to do and thoughts on how to get started.
Join us to learn how we can all give back to our community in a manner that is helpful to others and to ourselves.
OUR PRESENTER/GUIDE: Loretta Lurie Loretta is a member of TTN and serves as Co-Chair or the Life Transition Services committee. As she approached her transition of leaving the corporate world, she looked for ways to give back. Covid made it difficult to find opportunities but through research and perseverance she found a rewarding path in her volunteering experience. The search was a challenge but once she found places that matched her values and expertise, her experience has been terrific. For those leaving the corporate world, as Loretta did, recognizing the differences in the non-profit sphere can be daunting, especially as the organizational culture and expectations can be very different from one non-profit to another and certainly between nonprofits and corporations. Loretta is looking forward to sharing how she found ways to adapt to each organization's needs and idiosyncrasies.
